Manager - Media Planning WANTED

The role:

The Manager, Media, Planning & Research position will be a key component of Airways Marketing structure, providing an opportunity for the successful candidate to have a real impact within the World's 5 Star Airline.

The position will be responsible for managing the global media plan, marketing activity planning as well as responsibility for Corporate Research. A focus for the position will be for developing the global media plan for key campaigns which includes buying and planning media directly with global media suppliers and managing global media agencies.

An additional key area of responsibility is marketing activity planning for the corporate marketing calendar and ensuring organisational governance and process compliance. The role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of the marketing function and compliance with the Airway’s organizational processes.

Another aspect of this role also involves in managing research programmes for the airways group which includes managing and directing research agencies in key markets.

Strategic:

Develop the airline’s global media strategy to effectively communicate Airway’s brand and marketing messages to the relevant target audiences. Develop strategic relationships with media suppliers and media agencies to optimise our media budgets and achieve innovation in the communication of our marketing messages and campaigns, Continue to position Airways as a premium, world leading international airline across all markets we operate in.

Ensure the master Qatar Airway’s marketing calendar is integrated across the global media channels and HO campaigns are co-ordinated and planned to achieve maximum impact throughout the year. Integrate results from our customer satisfaction measurement tools and research programs into the organization by working with key internal stakeholders on providing recommendation and solutions.

Operational:

Develop an integrated global media schedule to ensure consistency of campaign and messaging throughout the year, Stay abreast of media development, media analysis and media trends. Negotiation with media suppliers and media agencies to achieve maximum utilization of media budget, Co-ordination of marketing campaigns to ensure maximum share of voice throughout the year, management of marketing projects.

Management:

Establish the team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objective, regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices and make appropriate changes if needed. Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management, key internal stakeholders include: Procurement, Contracts, Finance and Corporate Communication, Management of global media suppliers and agencies.

Train and develop employees, for proper succession planning and risk management, Provide strong direction to the team and encourage seeking new marketing opportunities and continuous learning.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will need to have a Bachelor Degree or Equivalent in Marketing, Business Studies, or Communications. You will have a minimum of 7+ years job related working experience (mdia buying / planning), ideally coming from a multi-national corporate or media agency

We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong media industry background e.g Print, TV, Digital

Particular preferance will be given to candidates who have handled large global media spend budgets

Middle Eastern experience or international experience gained working with a multi-cultural work environment. Working in cross-functional teams, Experience working in a head office of a multi-national company, Preference will be given to those who have marketing experience within a dynamic, fast paced consumer goods or services organization, and working in a planning role within a creative or media agency.
