We currently have a rare opportunity for an Employee Relations specialist to join our Employee Relations team located at Jetstar's Group Head Office.
This position will be mainly responsible for supporting the HR Business Partners and Managers across the entire Australia/New Zealand network.
Reporting to Manager of Employee Relations your main accountabilities will include:
- Providing advice and guidance to the business on the use and implementation of industrial instruments.
- Providing advice and guidance to the business on the management of disputes and workplace issues.
- Co-ordinating and assisting in the management of the EBA negotiation process.
- Drafting of Employment/Industrial law documentation.
- Provision of timely updates on all Employee Relations activity.
- Appearing before the Fair Work Commission as required.
- Developing and facilitating training for Front Line Managers in conjunction with the broader Employee Relations team.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in law, employee relations, human resource management or a related discipline are essential.
- Time worked in a similar commercial role in a large, complex organisation.
- Proven extensive experience in an Industrial/Employee Relations role.
- Understanding of current compliance practices including a solid working knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other relevant employment/industrial laws.
- Proven experience in understanding and interpreting complex Industrial Instruments and EBAs.
- Substantial experience in dealing with unions and employee representatives.
- Ability to think strategically in the context of the whole enterprise.
- Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Strong work ethic and preparedness to travel interstate or to New Zealand when required.
- Exposure to or knowledge of New Zealand industrial instruments and employment law will be highly advantageous, although not essential.
