Flight Attendant Responsibilities
- Perform in¿flight service duties: greet passengers, provide in¿flight announcements, safety demonstrations, serve beverages and meals and be accountable for cash handling
- Provide customer service and assistance to passengers with various items including answering general questions and stowing carry¿on items, which may include pushing, pulling, reaching, stooping, twisting, kneeling, lifting and carrying items
- Adhere to all company policies and Transport Canada regulations to ensure a safe cabin environment is maintained
- Provide consistent levels of superior customer service and satisfaction by anticipating customer needs and exceeding expectations in the provision of service
- Light grooming of aircraft as required
- Demonstrate a positive and energetic attitude when interacting with customers, coworkers and management
- Operate mechanical and emergency safety equipment
- Provide assistance and timely communication to passengers during emergency and unusual incidents (i.e. delayed flight, severe weather condition, turbulent flight, etc.)
Flight Attendant Requirements
- High school or equivalent;
- Minimum age of 19 years;
- A valid Canadian Passport is required;
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) which requires a five (5) year traceable history, clear criminal record and proof of citizenship);
- Clear criminal record background check is required;
- Successfully complete and pass a pre¿employment aviation medical that includes a 35lb Fitness to Work assessment, audiometric screen, breath alcohol test, vision test, and Urine Express Panel 12 drug test (includes testing for illegal substances). Your functional capabilities must meet the essential functions of the Flight Attendant job;
- Successful completion of the CT301 course through the Inflight Institute is required prior to receiving company initial training. The cost of the course is reimbursed by Flair Airlines if the candidate successfully completes six (6) months of continuous employment;
- Successfully complete and pass the company's full time four (4) week initial training program, annual training and any other training deemed necessary by the company;
- Ability to be away from home overnight for extended periods of time;
- Ability to work irregular hours, evenings, weekends and holidays with a schedule that varies, often on short Successful candidates may be scheduled any hour of the day, or any day of the week or year;
- Must abide by professional grooming policy and adhere to strict uniform standards;
- Patient, calm under pressure and able to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team; sometimes under difficult and stressful circumstances;
- Safety conscious and positive attitude;
- Post-secondary education is considered an asset;
- Previous customer service, hospitality or sales experience is an asset; and
- French fluency or a second language is considered an asset.
