MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Portray a courteous, professional and efficient way to welcome and seat guests at all times, following HOTEL of the Emirates’ Standards Operating Procedures (S.O.P.’s).
• Stays in contact with the greeters, in order to be ready on time to receive the guests.
• Escorts guests to a table, balancing the customer flow among the service sections, taking into account requests for a particular table or section, depending on availability and according to the etiquette.
• Provide menus to the guest once seated and let them know a waiter will soon be helping them.
• Informs the waiter on the arrival of new guest in their section.
• Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and up sell alternatives.
• Keeps abreast of special promotions and hotel product knowledge.
• Assists waiters/waitresses with serving where necessary.

COMPETENCIES:

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a Hostess role preferably in a five star hotel / upmarket bar environment.
• Background in Restaurant Reservations is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, enthusiastic, flexible and high attention to details.
• Flexibility to work longer hours as per business demand.
• Knowledge of additional language is an advantage.
