Job Description:
The Engineering Storekeeper will ensure prompt repair and maintenance services from the engineering department by carefully monitoring and controlling the department’s inventory stock. This will also be achieved through the development and maintenance of a detailed cataloging system. The storekeeper develops relationships with outside contractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and prompt delivery of products and services
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- To ensure the Hotel's security instructions and regulations are observed at all times in accordance with Hotel and company policy and procedures
- Record on a daily, weekly and monthly basis all items of stock which have been sighed out of the stores for use by the department
- Ensure a tracking system's is maintained to monitor par stock levels, fast moving and slow moving items are recorded to enable the stores department to operate efficiently at all times
- To ensure all log books, record sheets and dairy of events are correctly completed and kept up to date prior to finishing the shift
- Liaise with the hotel’s purchasing department and the engineering suppliers to ensure the efficient ordering and receiving of inventory items or outsourced maintenance services
- Assist the hotel’s purchasing department with sourcing suppliers and obtain quotations for engineering supplies or outsourced maintenance services
- Constantly strive to reduce costs for the department without reducing quality of service, or impacting on our guest satisfaction in any way
- Monitor and report on progress of any plans or ideas implemented to reduce the department’s wastage of resources
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Fluent English
- Working knowledge of engineering terminology
- Working knowledge of basic office equipment
- Ability to multi-task while remaining organized and detail oriented
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point
Education:
Secondary School graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Previous experience in a similar role
