About Your Job:

As the Sales Manager – South Africa, you will generate revenue through high sales performance and effective sales promotion. You will achieve, organise, control and monitor passenger sales targets and the marketing goals of the company.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Directing and controlling all marketing and selling activities of the district and penetrate the local market to secure new sources of revenue
  • Liaising with Head Office Commercial and Planning staff to identify, review and recommend changes to tariffs / revenue reports and recommend and implement changes to existing plans and operating budgets as per station requirements
  • Ensuring QR participation in sales campaigns and public events, collecting sales leads and dissemination to concerned departments and stations
  • Ensuring that product and promotional plans are understood and implemented to give greatest impact in the market
  • Controlling, guiding and monitoring the day to day activities of all field sales staff to ensure satisfactory performance levels and smooth flow of business

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need a relevant Bachelors degree (preferably in marketing or public relations) combined with a minimum of seven years of job-related sales and marketing experience. You will need a minimum of five years of experience in passenger sales in a highly competitive airline/travel market. Knowledge of the local travel market in South Africa will be essential to your success.

You will also need to be fluent in English (written and oral) to performance this role.
