Job description
As part of the Medical Department and reporting to the Head of MSL, you will serve as a key scientific resource for our internal and external customers. You will exchange scientific data and discuss research initiatives with external healthcare professionals, including those at the highest levels both nationally and internationally. You will be responsible for providing scientific information and education to both internal and external business partners, and have the opportunity for collaboration with global colleagues on specific projects.
Principal Accountabilities include:
• Medical and scientific discussions, presentations, data exchange and education
• Providing and supporting medical information in relation to unsolicited enquiries
• Coordination and delivery of medical and scientific educational activities
• Internal scientific support and training
• Continuing self-education and training
• Formulary presentations on request
• Investigator support e.g. Investigator Sponsored Studies
• Interactions with medical societies, patient groups, Advisory Boards and other related activities such as attendance at international/ national scientific meetings
• Providing an expert resource to the field force and to the relevant Head Office/ Global colleagues
• Keeping an accurate and updated record of all internal and external interactions
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
• Life science degree preferably with a higher qualification such as MSc or PhD
• Therapeutic area/product educational background is preferred
• Academic/scientific writing experience either through educational background and/or job experience are essential
• Prior experience within the pharmaceutical industry is desirable, specifically in an MSL type role.
• Excellent communication skills across all business levels
• Knowledge and experience of the ABPI Code of Practice would be advantageous as well as knowledge and experience of the UK environment.
