TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish capabilities to strengthen data sciences and bioinformatics
• Design and implement concepts to support cross-functional R&D information gathering, and modeling as well as simulation
• Interact with scientists in research, preclinical, experimental medicine and clinical development to derive and implement user-centric IT based solutions
• Interact with and participate in external scientific cooperation(s) in translational R&D (panels/consortia)
• Drive holistic data integration for R&D and improve seamless information flow between data repositories
• Contribute to and further refine the IT vision for translational R&D
• Consult and governance with regard to the design of analytics capabilities for research, preclinical and clinical development
• Consulting regarding the identification, evaluation and implementation of IT solutions for R&D that fit to the defined and given architectural framework
• Identification, evaluation, selection and implementation of innovative IT solutions
• Substantially contribute to selected critical projects to steer them towards the key objectives e.g. by steering individual work packages
• Proactive risks and issue identification and management
• Adhere to global project management best practices and standards
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and directives
• Support Computational Life Science teams by providing diverse informatics analytics capabilities to support drug project decision making
REQUIREMENTS
• PhD, advanced university degree or business equivalent, preferably in natural or computational sciences, bioinformatics
• Knowledge of drug discovery and drug development processes in the healthcare industry
• Good understanding of predictive analytics, modelings and simulations and insight generation from data, e.g. text mining and machine learning
• Experience in data- and knowledge management, especially in data annotation and ontologies
• Experience with complex and multidimensional data analysis and integration (e.g. NGS)
• Several years of experience in leading interdisciplinary teams
• Proven ability and fun to work in competitive, fast changing and multicultural environments
• Strong analytical thinking and conceptual skills to define goal-oriented approaches
• Being self-reliant and able to work both, independent and collaborative
• Strong international project management skills
• Ability to challenge the status quo and to embrace change
• Business fluent in English, both verbal and written
