Job description

As a Junior Buyer you will focus on the procurement of goods and services for the company, p.e. Personal Protection Equipment, Lab. Consumables, lab. Chemicals, Lab. Equipment, Maintenance contracts. You will work partially from our office in Diegem and partially from our R&D site in Ghent. You are responsible for executing purchasing transactions, in a way that products and services are delivered in time and according to the specified commercial- and technical conditions. You monitor the operational purchasing process and you initiate optimization opportunities.

The following tasks are part of your job:

• Interaction with Requisitioner to understand PR/SC

• Purchasing transactions / PR-PO processing

• PR/PO status tracking, monitoring, expediting – signaling

• Quotation handling under supervision of Category Manager

• Order acknowledgements

• P2P complaint handling

• Archiving of documents

• New Vendor onboarding

• Year order processing

• First point of Contact SRM Issues

• Local implementation of Global Contracts

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree, by preference in (Bio)chemistry

• 3-5 years of experience in a procurement function

• Experience with operational purchasing processes

• VIB training certificate is an advantage

• Very good knowledge of Windows Applications, knowledge of SAP or other CRM system is an asset

• Fluent in Dutch, English and preferably French

• Customer focused, good communication and negotiation skills

• Improve and change mentality

• Result driven

• Live preferably between Brussels and Ghent, possessing a car is necessary
