TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a lab with 1-3 technicians within weed control chemistry to identify new active ingredients in the field of weed control

• Work as laboratory head (m/f) in multidisciplinary project teams along with colleagues from Synthetic Organic Chemistry and Process Research as well as Biology, Development, Production and Marketing in the fields of crop science research

• Design and efficiently provide the synthesis of innovative molecules or families in line with the research objectives

• Assure highest level of efficiency by integrating available modern synthesis tools and techniques and actively participate in the development of in-house technologies

• Contribute to motivation and development of staff; ensure an appropriate feedback

• Assure appropriate management of intellectual properties as well as internal and external documentation of results and progress for the area of responsibility

• Ensure high safety standards and compliant action within the area of responsibility, taking into account laws, regulations and directives including assessment and evaluation of potential risks of all processes and reactions

REQUIREMENTS

• Scientific education in organic chemistry (PhD or comparable education); postdoctoral fellowship or foregoing industrial experience appreciated

• Excellent knowledge of classical and modern synthetic methods; knowledge of modern tools

• Experienced in the fields of aromatic and heterocyclic synthesis or the synthesis of natural products

• Willingness and ability to understand and adapt related matters important for the success of agrochemical research

• Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as intercultural knowledge

• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

• Fluency in English; fluency in German is advantageous
