Position Description
The Sales Director is a key member of the Womenswear management team and responsible for developing and implementing Divisional Sales strategy in alignment with the overall Divisional Strategy.
In addition the role is a key contact to support all country sales teams with the presentation of collections, supporting key account meetings and ensuring effective and consistent communication between the division, country sales, wholesale and retail.
Overall is it vital that this person forms the link between sales, product, merchandising and sales; it is a unique opportunity to be part of the company of Womenswear team (European Headquarters) based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Countries on local sales strategies and translate these into divisional sales plan
- Ensure constant and effective communication between division, country sales and retail team as well as key accounts on commercial and product topics
- Support country sales team in implementation of overall commercial strategy and seasonal plans, by sharing best practices, providing sales tools, support account presentations
- Strongly align with sales managers of other divisions in terms of strategies, plans and implementation and share best practice
- Ownership of seasonal sales targets in terms of numbers and quality (continuously monitor progress sell in process and intersect with country teams
- Work with country teams on plans for strategic account management and actively support its implementation.
- Work with the division and other departments to deliver commercially relevant products and tools to support sales growth in alignment with the brand and its product direction
- Analyze and monitor regional, divisional challenges regarding sales development and follow up with countries
- Prepare and manage the line openings for the division
- Ensure collections are optimal presented in the different sales channels
- Collect seasonal product feedback, sell through and generate market sales insight for the division in order to include learning’s into product cycle
- Think and act as a brand ambassador
- Work with our in-house marketing team in defining appropriate BLT activities with selected customers
Requirements
- Minimal 7-10 years of experience in product management, brand management or merchandise role within an International operating apparel brand or wholesaler
- Strong commercial track record in sales and product management role within the Fashion industry (EMEA region)
- Ability to interact with different European/Global markets in a positive & constructive manner
- University Degree
- Proven ability and experience in managing a team
- Able to frequently travel to visit local markets
- Strong organizational skills, ability in maintaining a tight calendar while working on process management and juggling multiple priorities
- Strong background in sales and planning, previous experience in a similar position is a plus
- Excellent communication, sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Strong influencing and networking skills
- In depth understanding of market trends, fashion & knowledge of competitors while maintaining a strong commercial awareness
- Team player
- Fluent in English is essential both written and verbal as English is the working language of the company; German language is a plus
