You will be responsible for assisting the engineering department in ensuring the hotel is well maintained and guests’ needs are met in accordance. You will also be responsible for operating plant and machinery and carrying out repairs and maintenance for front and back of house areas, ensuring the correct safety regulations are followed at all times. Further duties include, assisting the Manager – Engineering with the planning of rosters, delegation of tasks and responsibilities to staff and overseeing their performance while assisting them in their duties and ensuring all employees deliver the brand promise.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma or higher qualification, Mechanical Engineering most desirable
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in the Hotel Industry
- Experience with Building Management Systems would be an asset
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication (with advanced proficiency of the English Language) and time management skills with a strong ability to multi-task.
- Superior customer service skills along with excellent service resolution skills.
- The necessary skills to be able to perform painting, concreting, tiling and other general maintenance, with previous experience in Carpentry.
- The ability to motivate and encourage a positive working environment for team members
- Superior customer service skills along with the capability of working both autonomously and as part of a team.
- The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of five star grooming standards.
- The flexibility to work a range of shifts including day, afternoon, weekends and public holidays.
