Assistant Banqueting Manager

Tasks:

  • Assist in managing all banquets and events
  • Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
  • Communicate and delegate tasks to the team 
  • Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Assist F&B management with achieving financial targets
  • Assist F&B management with training and development of team members
  • Documents inventory forecast usage and monitors supplies
  • Optimize Sales and contain costs, identifying any areas for action
  • Managing staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Conduct annual and mid-year appraisals with team members under your responsibility
  • Assist in recruiting, managing, training and developing your team
  • Be environmentally aware
  • Represent needs of the team
  • Ensure accurate billing
  • Assistant in monthly stock takes
  • Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
  • Ensure compliance of brand standards
  • Clean and set up tables and meeting rooms

Skills:

  • Previous Banqueting experience and minimum 2 years supervisor experience in a banqueting role.
  • Previous work experience in 4-5 star hotel or convention centre
  • Strong knowledge of hotel/leisure/service sector
  • Ability to meet departmental targets
  • Flexibility to work morning, afternoon, evening and night shifts in case required
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage pairing
  • Excellent knowledge of conference & Banquets
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations
  • Ability to coach and develop a team
  • Natural leadership skills
