Description 
Under the direction of the VP & General Manager the HR Manager has overall responsibility for the HR functions including employee hiring, discipline, termination, training, compensation, benefits, personnel record-keeping and workers compensation.

The HR Manager maintains and improves the company's human resources by planning, implementing, and assessing employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
 
Essential Functions: 

  • Assist managers in hiring, including updating and/or developing job descriptions and job advertisements, placing job ads, and screening applications and interviewing candidates.
  • Update company “career” site and staffing center.
  • Request employment references and background checks.
  • Maintain all personnel files, I-9 records, drug and alcohol screening and background investigation results, and other personnel records, and ensure APPI is in compliance with all laws and regulations and demonstrates “best practices” in regard to personnel information management.
  • Develop and implement human resources programs and policies and periodically review and update current Employee Manual.
  • Work with managers to develop training manuals for each department.
  • Work with Corporate and Management on matters involving benefits, employee safety and workers compensation issues.
  • Develop, implement and participate in employee engagement and recognition programs. Train managers in engagement techniques.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual HR reports.
  • Inform corporate about new hires and termination.
  • Work with managers to prepare annual staff budget and forecasts.
  • Oher duties may assigned as needed.

Qualifications 
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related discipline preferred.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience across all HR disciplines, including employment, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training and development, workers compensation and conflict resolution.
  • Experience working with seasonal workforce is preferred.

  • Excellent confidentiality skills when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with the workforce.
