Main mission of this position is to be accountable for the following activities of the Product Integrity Team within a Platform Segment
- Ensure the integrity of the Platform in relation with Design, Safety, Quality, and Performance taking into account the Market requirements for each applicable market Region.
- Develop the reliability and safety arguments for the Platform solutions, and provide the necessary inputs for the Architects and System Engineers within the team and System Platform CTO.
- Manage and coordinate safety issues, and create if needed, an independent safety teams.
- Ensure proper certification of Platform solutions to support the validation of new trains, compiling the file for the relevant authorities using the standard validation documents and process.
- Ensure harmonised processes across Platforms and continuous dialogue with authorities, CTO authorisation and recipient regions.
- Manage and develop a pool of competent resources to fulfil current and future projects needs by also integrating lessons learned from Bombardier Products in Service.
- Link with other CTO teams’ activities in terms of safety, homologation and design assurance
- Ensure that committed Engineering Platform Integrity deliverables are achieved within time, quality and budget and in line with legislation, safety and market requirements (Bids).
- Establish and maintain interfaces with Regional Engineering departments (Project Engineering, Vehicle Design, System Engineering, Physical Integration, Engineering Performance Office) & with relevant functions (Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Sales, Bids) and with CTO functions.
- Work closely with CTO System and CTO Authorisation to develop and validate an intermediate process of authorisation and approval for the platform frozen core in advance of transfer to Regional Engineering Teams.
- Management and development of relevant skills within Product Integrity Department (workforce planning, performance management, career development, succession planning and recruitment).
- Continuous optimization of Platform Integrity processes/tools/behaviours by taking into account business requirements, customer needs, technical innovations, and new market conditions. Working closely with CTO Authorisation and Regional Product Integrity Teams.
Qualifications
- Education
- Engineering Degree or equivalent, Chartered Engineer
- Relevant experience required
- Experienced Senior Manager with a minimum 5 years of experience in various projects in Engineering
- Strong experience in rail Product Integrity, Design Assurance, Safety, Quality, and Performance
- Working in a complex international environment
- Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role
- Comprehensive understanding of standardization concepts
- Comprehensive knowledge of respective product segments
- Value-based engineering solutions in support of products and projects
- In depth abilities in conceptual thinking
- Knowledge of international standards and norms relating to Rail Vehicle Manufacture
