Tasks:
- Write and execute commissioning procedures for tests and installations
- Initiate, review and coordinate modifications to contract, specifications & plans throughout the test process
- Lead and manage tests within the Engineering Development Laboratory, working to budget and timescale
- Analyze collected data and results, prepare and issue subsequent relevant memos, analysis, reports, recommendations
- Ensure that safe systems of work are in place
Moreover, contribute to lab general activities, whilst:
- Providing support to other test team, including Train zero or on-track testing working off-site.
- Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations
- Evaluate engineering proposals, engineering drawings and design comments for sound engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria. Recommend approval or disapproval.
- Benchmark with other test sites to identify best practices in Safety, technical and management areas
The above reduces modification costs and performance penalties and avoids liquidated damages and retentions due to delayed introduction into service
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in a similar role, having a hands-on approach
- Experience in mechanics & electromechanics testing of components or sub-assemblies, ideally within an R&D environment
- Ability to project manage a varied range of tests
- Demonstrated experience in operational management of a small team, team player
- Demonstrated ability to analyze the test results and make recommendations on how these information can be used
- CATIA experience would be a plus
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Good communication skills and customer orientation
