Key responsibilities
• Responsible for supporting CTO Platform Engineering, CTO Functions, Regional Bid Engineering, Regional Sales, Strategic Procurement and Senior Management in the formulation of market driven Requirements and Objectives which (by way of monthly reports) influence the Platform Strategy for the Segment. ProCo (Product Comparison Reports) detailing Bombardiers platform relative to Competitor solutions & Developments, from a technical, cost base, price and ‘unique selling point’ perspective form part of the expected output. These documents will be submitted to Senior Management for consideration on key bids.
• Analyze competitive market and bid strategies from a competitor perspective, through analysis of related competitor products and services. The M&CI must also try to identify future trends and competitiveness by watching the new product roll-out of competitors solutions and innovations (feeding this knowledge into CTO Innovation).
• Work with Bids across the Division to provide historical market price information based upon the proposed vehicle concepts and expected Competitor solutions. This will be based analysis undertaken ‘off-cycle’ to looking at the innovations, developments, performance, and capacity of Competitors in general. The candidate will share this with Sales in each Region as appropriate for integration into ‘ProCo’ documents prepared by Sales in each Region.
• Participate in organizing a robust network of CMI inputs within CTO Platforms, CTO, Regions and Group Strategy. The M&CI Manager will organise structured communication across Divisions to ensure that Engineering solutions are shared across BT.
• Work with CTO Systems to establish a formatted database of standardised system solutions, and ensure that the database is rolled out through Bombardier with confirmed accessibility.
• Search available industry reports and readily available public information to reveal valuable information that informs CTO Platforms on key technical developments that Competitors are undertaking including, R&D, patent applications, performance to contract, key innovations and cost, mass and energy performance drivers.
• Strive as part of the CTO to develop the CMI network within the company. In particular, the drive to understand the requirements of our Customers better and be more effective in translating Customer requirements into solutions that deliver competitive advantage.

Qualifications & Functional Knowledge
Education
• Experience: Business or Marketing/Mathematics based degree or equivalent required.
Relevant experience required
• Rail Industry experience, or Marketing Capability in Manufacturing or similar.
• Experience in working internationally.
