Associate Manager/Lead Specialist, IT Job

Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Work with Life/Science R&D Technical Application owners and Infrastructure technical leads to architect, configured/build HPC & Parallel File System solutions, base on business requirements and design the automation for its delivery in an stable, secure, and efficient manner.
2. Performance analysis and optimization, design systems monitoring, support problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, as well as process creation and documentation in accordance with Pharma R&D and regulatory compliance guidance.
3. Provides technical leadership for design and support of infrastructure Linux HPC & vSphere technologies
4. Develop HPC roadmap base on strategies for growth.
5. Manage HPC implementations at central and remote sites, performance analysis and optimization of all its components, good problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation in accordance with Pharma and regulatory compliance guidance.
6. Acts as liaison to IT and business to gather requirements for related technology solutions.
7. Performs evaluation of Linux & vSphere virtualization technology alternatives and their risks and costs assessments.
8. Acts as a self-directed and self-motivated facilitator to lead peers through effort, example, and collaboration and works closely with the business and IT to develop cost effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex requirements.
9. Develops project cost and benefit estimates to establish project worth; including alternative considerations leading to recommendations for new systems or equipment installations, or change to existing ones.
10. Based on Industry standard platforms and regulatory compliance, participates in and coordinates cross-technology discussions to determine long term strategy for infrastructure servers technology and work with team to design and implement Linux & vSphere solutions,
11. Implement process improvements as pertain to infrastructure in order to be more responsive to the needs of the business.
12. Follow standard operating procedures while maintaining validated & qualified systems.
13. Serve as the primary and first level of support for problems not been resolved by helpdesk support.
14. Engages cross-functional teams to collaborate in the incident-solving process, suggests simple to moderate solutions that are innovative, practical, well-received, and understandable to colleagues
15. Supports IT functions to ensure flawless execution of plans and projects, following established polices and processes
16. Perform the day-to-day transactional work of the IT function, maintaining a high level of accuracy in tasks performed (minimal supervision required)
17. Perform periodic reviews of the Linux & vSphere server infrastructure, including HBA drivers, & firmware to ensure compliance with best practices.
18. Work with the operations staff to perform maintenance activities to ensure a stable systems and server infrastructure.
19. Establish Global standards for IT server infrastructure technology components
20. Provide Customer support via telephone, e-mail, and other tools.
21. Provide timely status updates to direct report and other IT management
22. Write custom tools to automate system administration tasks, backups, monitoring, etc.
23. On-call support on some nights and weekends and On-Site or Remote Office support may be needed
24. Perform other job related duties as required

Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge Required:
 7+ years working knowledge in RHEL, CentOS Linux & vSphere System Administration in a Corporate Environment
 5-7 Years working knowledge in IBM/Cisco Server & BladeCenter technologies.
 3+ years IBM’s Global Parallel File System (GPFS) administrative experience is a must
 5-7 years’ experience with high performance computing in life sciences
 Scientific computing and HPC environment experience.
 Good Understanding of Data Replication technologies is a must
 Working knowledge Installing, supporting and managing Red Hat, CentOS & vSphere on IBM & Cisco servers booting of the SAN.
 Understanding of HPC software/hardware interface, LINUX, IO storage and interconnect systems, embedded systems design, device drivers, testing and implementation on x86 platforms GPU-HPC systems.
 Job scheduling experience required.
 Programming skills in languages such as PERL, SQL, C/C#, .Net, Java, python etc.
 Working knowledge in a high-volume or critical production service environment required
 Working knowledge with High Availability, Clusters failover scenarios and load balanced environments is a must
 Previous experience with AWS is strongly desired.
 Working knowledge on Red Hat & CentOS GFS and NFS configuration and implementation for Oracle RAC, is a must.
 Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and various Internet servers (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, SNMP, NFS, MTA's, SAMBA, is a must.
 Previous life science/pharma experience is strongly desired (NGS and compchem)
 Familiar with Red Hat, CentOS & vSphere best practices, security and server hardening
 Familiarity with Oracle and SQL databases and web programming languages is required
 Previous experience with configuration management tools (CFengine/Puppet/Chef) is desired
 Strong working knowledge of IBM storage environments (SAN,NAS & GPFS) is desired
 Excellent communication, written and organizations skills are required
 Great documentation/design skills required. Ability to think conceptually is a must.
 Demonstrated ability in staying abreast of technical developments in the industry and aligning them with strategic company objectives
 On-call support on some nights and weekends and carrying a cell phone are required.
 Occasional late-night maintenance, alone at the corporate facilities, is required.
 Must be able to physically lift and move computers, storage and peripherals.
 Some travel may be required (5%-10%)
 Good analytical skills are required
 Able to make appropriate decision when handling potentially confidential or employee related information when performing daily tasks and projects
 Demonstrate an understanding of how to handle confidential or employee related information
 Use appropriate judgment and decision making in redirecting, handling or escalating moderately complex situations to direct supervisor or project lead in a timely manner
 Understands and independently follows the policies and procedures pertinent to their IT function
 Organizational "Fit" Considerations: The candidate must be flexible to take on different tasks at short notice and have the ability to function in cross-functional team setup that consists of different disciplines. Prospective candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment.

Education/Experience:
BA or BS in relevant field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) preferred or equivalent Technical School training or equivalent work experience that includes appropriate training courses, and equivalent work-related experience
 At least 5 years of experience of Enterprise capacity planning skills with be a plus.
 AWS Certifications are a plus.
 Over 5 years of experience with high-availability and Disaster-Recovery using technologies such as Cluster Services, SRDF/BCVs are a must.
 5 years experience on vSphere Virtualization capabilities, DRS, VMotion, P2V, P2P, HA, Fault Tolerance Date Protection, Replication, & Automation/Host profiles is required
 Windows Server 2008/2012 experience is desired
 Over 5 years of experience automating, activities using Puppet, Perl, PHP and or Shell scripting is a necessity.
 Demonstrable experience with the administration or setup of Oracle/Sybase/SQL is a plus.
 Demonstrable experience administering, setting-up or participating in initiatives with application servers such as JBoss, Weblogic and Websphere is a plus.
 Experience with VMware 5.x Virtualization is required
 Experienced working with development teams, engineers and vendors designing large systems.
 Linux to Active Directory integration experience is required, Centrify experience is a plus.
 Server platform certification is required. IBM or Cisco certification is strongly preferred.
 Pharmaceutical background preferred. Understanding of the CFR Part 11 and Sarbanes-Oxley regulatory requirements and experience with processes and procedures to apply and administer these and other necessary regulatory requirements in an operational environment.
