Responsibilities
Cultivate company leadership position and favorable public image by crafting strategies, pitching stories, seeking opportunities and communicating programs and points-of-view that raise awareness of the organization and its issue
Develop, execute and maintain PR strategies, plans and campaigns for new and existing objectives to enhance company's local, national and international visibility
Manage and coordinate all PR and public outreach campaigns and events, for our clinical, public education/outreach and research mission areas
Integrate assets and programs from Marketing and Editorial teams to reach audiences across paid, earned, shared and owned media
Prepare/edit news releases, fact sheets, scripts, etc. to media outlets.
Monitor, review and report on all PR activity and results
Conduct market research, as needed, to determine market requirements for existing and future initiatives and company positioning
Collaborate within department and across organization to meet goals and foster a united, upbeat team
Oversee press officer and event/education campaign manager
Direct and collaborate with PR agency
Ensure ongoing media training for senior staff, clinicians and researchers
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in public relations or related field; advanced degree a plus
A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive PR experience in a management/supervisory role
Prior not-for-profit marketing experience
Agency experience preferred
Demonstrated track record of bringing high visibility media attention to cause/company and successfully managing PR campaigns across all media
Solid rolodex of press contacts
Experience with (and enthusiasm for) celebrity outreach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional project management skills required. Ability to work in a fast paced environment managing multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines
Must posses sound judgment, decision-making and team-building skills
Flexible attitude; keen on recognizing and seizing unplanned opportunities
Able to maintain calm under pressure; resilient
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and partnerships with a variety of people
