Job Description
Senior Electrical Designer responsible for electrical design of power distribution and instrumentation cabling for power plants and heavy industrial projects. In addition the senior electrical designer will be responsible for producing panel schedules, cable and conduit schedules, tray design, schematic and wiring diagrams, terminal diagrams and PLC schematics. This individual must be capable of working in an interdisciplinary environment as a contributing team member as well as independently on a wide variety of projects.
Typical Duties:
Typical duties will include but not be limited to the following:
• Preparation and/or modification of one line drawings, sketches, bills of materials, panel schedules, control board drawings, control wiring diagrams, schematics and wiring termination drawings, and cable routing.
• Field walk down of client sites, equipment, and panels.
• Sizing of conduits, sizing of cables for power distribution, data systems, and telecommunications equipment.
• Interact with clients, managers, contractors, and coworkers within the company.
• Review of shop drawings and submittals.
• Preparation of contractor's scope of work and bid documents.
• Extremely fluent with AutoCAD work.
• Review of shop drawings and submittals.
Education/Experience:
• 5-10 years relevant experience in industrial plants.
• Familiar with the current National Electrical Code. International Building Codes, and NFPA.
• Familiar with software suites such as MS Word and Excel
• Experience with the design power distribution systems.
• Extremely proficient with AutoCAD.
