Responsibilities: 

• Manage the day to day West Coast transportation needs of the company. 
• Negotiate freight rates, carrier selection and develop ongoing relationships between to company, the carrier, and the customer. 
• Manage load building of all West Coast routed outbound orders 
• Manage the inbound loads and coordinate with production facilities for accurate arrival times 
• Plan deliveries by organizing truck loads and routing schedules 
• Create new product load configurations to maximize truck utilization and cost efficiencies. 
• Coordinate the most cost efficient and rapid delivery with the customer and the sales department. 
• Coordinate multiple shipping sites in various states on delivered sales. 
• Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of all shipments in transit. 
• Work closely with the sales office to meet changing customer needs. 
• Manage and resolve carrier claims, disputes and issues. 
• Develop analysis techniques to measure performance of logistics operations. 
• Develop business by analyzing logistics problems and producing new solutions 
• Seek out and establish backhaul opportunities to lower total cost of delivered freight. 
• Develop cross dock routing and enhance ability to forward distribute at minimum cost. 
• Some travel will be required.
  
  Qualifications: 
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work related experience 
• Previous management experience 
• Must be proficient with computer and appropriate software. 
• Effective written and oral communication skills 
• Experience in logistics including DRP, WMS, TMS, and bar code
