Responsibilities:
The IT organization is looking for an IT Business Analyst to support the Reporting and Analysis needs of Finance. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Finance organizations of medium to large software companies and have both an IT and Finance background with expertise in Budgeting, Forecasting, Month End Close processing and Financial Reporting. Experience with Financial Solutions such as Oracle eBusiness Suite, Hyperion or HOST is a plus along with a sound understanding of Business Intelligence Reporting and Data Warehousing principles. The IT Business Analyst must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to work with all levels of Finance including Financial Analysts, Controllers and Senior Management.
The IT Business Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
Build and maintain relationships with Finance Management and Financial Analyst understanding their reporting requirements and upstream processes and solutions.
Lead role in collecting and documenting requirements and employ a variety of approaches such as leading workshops, preparing mock reports, creating context diagrams, performing stakeholder analysis, etc.
Analyze complex information requests and apply expertise in financial processes and reporting to create effective reporting solutions.
Works closely with QA analysts and may perform regression testing related to Application and Infrastructure Upgrades.
Plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing when needed.
Manages Requests for Change adhering to Kronos’ best practices Change Management Process.
Collaborate regularly with other Business Analysts on cross-functional requests and solutions.
Support Project Managers planning, execution and management of project tasks and risks.
Work together with Technical staff to develop new reporting functionality.
Provides training and ‘how to’ support to the business in order to promote self-service
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of professional experience with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Accounting and Financial disciplines including Budgeting, Forecasting, Revenue Recognition, P&L Reporting, etc.
Demonstrated success in working in a team environment to support cross-functional initiatives.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to transform the analysis of business requirements, specifications, measurements, data mappings, policies, business procedures, etc. into effective and workable solutions.
Ability to work with both business and technical community alike.
Working knowledge of SQL and query tools such as TOAD
Experience with Oracle eBusiness Financials, 11i or R12, preferred.
Experience with Cognos Reporting 8.4 or better and Data Warehousing principles.
