SUMMARY
The Media Manager will work with the Media Director to ensure ongoing advertising plans are executed effectively to meet Cherokee Nation Enterprises requirements for timely, appropriate, and accurate advertising, according to established, sound, and ethical marketing and business practices. Coordinates with other directors and managers to plan, implement, and support advertising efforts for the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Based on media research and analytics from the player tracking system, strategically develops the best advertising campaign with the maximum reach, impact and recall value.
- Approves media budgets and monitors placement and timeless of media buys for all CNE business entities.
- Negotiates media contracts, agreements, rates and implements media plans within the approved budgets.
- Works with the marketing team to provide creative input to the advertising agency to ensure the correct message is prepared for each medium.
- Helps to manage the professional development of the media team. This includes mentoring and developing a staff.
- Meets with media vendors to increase knowledge of markets and identify new media opportunities.
- Maintains monthly summaries of budgets and promotions by vendor.
- Monitors trends in the digital marketing and advertising industry and works with Media Director to ensure the Media department is prepared for potential changes within the sector.
- Analyzes/optimizes monthly digital/online metric reports and provides recommendations.
- Manages the process of resolving discrepancies for all media invoices through make-goods or other approved resolutions.
- Conducts post-buy analysis to confirm that approved and placed media ran correctly, and delivered the required ratings.
- Evaluates all media requests to determine them consistent with current marketing and advertising objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
- Manages multiple projects without having direct supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or advertising. Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Media Planner/Buyer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Highly detail oriented problem solver
- Must possess strong negotiating skills
- Trafficking experience beneficial but not required
- Ability to multi-task
- Effective communication skills needed to maintain strong relationship with clients and media vendors.
- Proficient in media planning software and comfortable learning new software.
- Must be able to obtain a CNGC gaming license.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily performed in a climate controlled office setting.
