Duties and responsibilities 

• Design cost effective packaging machinery to fulfill customer requirements
• Perform calculation, select mechanical and drive components
• Responsible for more than one project at a time
• Utilizes SolidWorks do assure design integrity and accuracy
• Communicate and collaborate with sales, suppliers, engineers 
• Review proposal drawings for accuracy and completeness
• Assure projects are on schedule and communicate project status updates 
• Generate production drawings and bills of material
• Responsible for placing orders for machined and sheet metal parts 
• Prepare and release purchased item lists to purchasing
• Create equipment parts books and operation manuals to meet customer needs. 
• Applied problem solving techniques to resolve design issues
• Provide technical support during equipment installation/start-up as need
  
  Qualifications 
• BSME as a minimum
• 5 years' experience with machine design in a production environment
• Experience designing automation equipment
• SolidWorks experience is required, version12 or higher
• Experience designing with Sheet metal, specifically stainless
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
• Must be hands on and have to ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
• Ability to work with other engineers as well as independently
• Project management experience a plus, Microsoft Word and Excel
• AutoCAD is a plus Occasional travel is required.
