Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
- 6-7 years of full time senior level meeting planning experience required
- Project and finance management experience (6-7 years)
- Hospitality/Hotel knowledge
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills
- Knowledge of travel industry standards and industry terminology
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize under tight and fluid deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Engagement in industry associations (MPI, FICP, ISES).
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, word, basic web site design).
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Travel and/or Hospitality or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
- 8-10 years experience preferred
- Project and finance management experience
- Exceptional and proven negotiation skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Extensive destination and travel industry knowledge
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, with excellent public speaking/presentation skills.
- Ability to develop strong and sustainable relationships across the Enterprise (internal) including senior and executive leadership and external business partners (national sales directors, etc.).
- Ability to lead in a crisis situation
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others. Self-managed
- Engaged within the meeting planning, event planning, travel industry associations
- Advanced degree in marketing, business or communications
- CMP or CSEP
Additional Information
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Although travel demands will fluctuate subject to specific assignments, the person in this position will on average travel up to 10% of the time.
