Job Description
This specific position will revolve around being a front end expert for one of our five teams. The role will require you to:
* Help with the development of our marketing websites
* Coding ~90% of the time
* Helping define coding standards and best practices ~10% of the time
* Ensure the quality of the product produced by the teams through code reviews, unit and functional test coverage
* Be able to write elegant, readable, and well-documented code.
* Ensure that other developers are following to best practices
* Ensuring that the team is sharing code/components/best practices with other teams
* Mentoring less experienced developers
* Helping define front end solutions for new projects and estimating the effort required to do so
* A scrappy, entrepreneurial attitude and drive that gets high-quality projects in a timely fashion
* Work with the team lead in deeply understanding the business ecosystem, identifying problems and devising solutions
* A need to have a very high care factor for the work you do
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Expert in HTML5 and CSS3
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ year relevant work experience
* 8+ years professional experience as a front end developer
* 2+ years in the role of a team leader
* Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, problem solving, and complexity analysis
* Experience using Angular JS, Javascript, SASS/LESS
* Experience Agile/Scrum
* Experience creating responsive websites
* Experience using GIT
* Understanding of how to create performant websites
* A drive to keep up with the latest technology both at work and at home
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with Symfony 2 or Zend
* Experience with mentoring and making technical presentations
* Experience explaining technical concepts to non-technical people
* Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes and testing
* Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
* Experience working with a distributed team
* Additional Information: We are looking for more of a jr to mid lead. This is not necessarily a people leader as much as it is a web dev who is front end savvy and is capable of making the right technical decisions with minimal guidance and also capable of interfacing with internal clients as needed.
Our cash comp package is a combination of base salary, annual bonus, and vesting stock. It's a very incentive heavy package with annual bonus and stock comprising as much as 25% of cash comp.
