Director of Information Technology

 

My client, located in the Pinehurst, North Carolina area, currently has an opening for a Director of Information Technology. This position holds responsibilities for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions. This includes directing all IT operations to meet our business requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing legacy applications and development of new technical solutions.

 

The main focus of this position will be to do what it takes to support the end-users of the business as well as develop and support solutions that fit the business model and needs. They are looking for someone that takes a proactive approach to support rather than the traditional reactive helpdesk role. The successful candidate will also be experienced in a variety of software development concepts and practices for complex development projects. In this position, you will manage and direct the organization toward its primary technological objectives, by performing the following duties personally and through the IT/IS support team.

 

Director of Information Technology Qualifications/Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience
  • Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP and system administration with Fourth Shift ERP knowledge
  • Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in strategic planning, implementation and systems integrations, within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in maintaining a variety of legacy IT systems
  • Must possess the sophistication, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills to make things happen
  • Experience in managing multiple IT disciplines i.e. software development, technical support, systems architecture etc.
  • Maintain all facets of the network system. Strong personal experience with IT operations, networking – hardware and software, telephony and application support
  • Document every aspect of each system/application as it relates to: processes, modifications, configurations, inter-dependencies and overall system health and trends
  • Provide leadership, direction and management to the IT staff, vendors and consultants
  • Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Oversee all hardware and software evaluations and maintain vendor contracts
  • Knowledge of virtual environment technology and an in-depth knowledge of current IT industry trends and techniques
