The role reports to a Director in Finance Department based out of Head Office Abu Dhabi.
The role will encompass supervising, coordinating and enhancing the General Ledger section. Oversees and provides comprehensive professional and administrative support to ensure that all payment of liabilities are carried out as per accounting procedures & approved internal controls. Ensures accurate & timely preparation of the Nominal Ledger with the end view of ensuring an accurate recording of financial operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides professional direction to subordinates evaluates their performance & carries out necessary counseling to ensure acceptable level of performance.
- Identifies operational weaknesses & recommends appropriate courses of action for the improvement of work systems.
- Ensures maintenance of various books and ledgers e.g. Project Creditors Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Salary Reports etc., through constant checking/verification and encoding of entries for accuracy of information.
- Oversees preparation, posting & checking journal vouchers & source documents in order to ensure that all entries posted to the audit trail are correct/accurate.
- Supervises work activities to ensure that all schedules & reporting timetables are submitted on time in order to provide required Management information.
- Prints Nominal Ledger Report in accordance with reporting guidelines & requirements.
- Oversees preparation of debit/credit notes for submission for compliance with reporting requirements.
- Oversees preparation of all supporting schedules for all Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis according to established accounting procedures & company guidelines. Oversees preparation of regular monthly, quarterly & yearly reports as required.
- Ensures that various control accounts are fully reconciled according to established accounting procedures.
- Coordinates with internal & external personnel such as cost center heads, HO staff & outside parties to ensure smooth & correct interface of various modules of the Nominal Ledger.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in Finance,
- Candidates with additional professional certifications would be given an added advantage.
- 6-8 years experience in a supervisory capacity maintaining the Nominal Ledger as well as accounts payables for a large & prestigious organization.
