To direct and guide the recreation team in providing efficient, prompt, and personalized service to all guests in a safe and hygiene environment, in order to maximize guest satisfaction and organizational profitability in an atmosphere of teamwork and high employee morale.
• Responsible for keeping Gymnasium, swimming pool, SPA and surrounding areas in a thoroughly clean, well-maintained condition.
• Strictly follow Lost and found procedure.
• Exercise and control strategies to break even while looking at ways and means for cost reduction without affecting quality.
• Introduce and monitor and assess cost control and cost reduction measures on continuous basis.
• Continually seek opportunities to develop self and if applicable subordinates
• Proper grooming at all times
• Show fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments
• Is aware of the daily activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide regular market research / feedback on competition / updating of pricing and market positioning of the product.
• Effectively manage recreation department to maintain brand standards and achieve budget and other agreed objectives
• Reports directly to and communicates with the Rooms Division Manager / Director of Rooms on all pertinent matters affecting his/her department.
• Assists in supervision of all recreation, swimming pool and SPA areas.
• Work closely with other departments related to the to ensure effective customer orientated operation.
• Establish effective open communication lines throughout to ensure internal and external information is passed on to all levels.
• To deliver staff training programs to keep ahead of changes within the industry to maintain and enhance the service standards of the operation.
• Implement duties in line with the Quality standards, Security and Health & Safety requirements and applicable legislations
• Organizing regular departmental meetings.
• Ensure safe daily operations within the department by ensuring compliance of all health, safety and fire prevention policies and procedures.
• Foster good relationships with Guests and other organizational departments, to handle members’ complaints and suggestions, promptly and professionally.
• To maintain an effective sales process to ensure all revenues are achieved while looking for opportunities to create activities to add on value added services.
• Evaluate the performance of the team and administrate an individual development program to provide well trained employees at all levels, thus improving standards, motivation and creating a succession plan.
• Develop formal training plans and conduct on-the-job training sessions for departmental associates.
• Effective support with guests, ensuring their satisfaction with recreation activities.
• Schedules and regularly conducts routine inspections of areas under his/her control.
• Is responsible for maintaining standards to ensure that facilities and equipment are clean, in good condition and well maintained and safe.
• Maintains appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance and posture of recreation employees.
• Assists in conducting such functions as interviewing, orientation, performance appraisals, coaching, counseling and training if necessary, to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
• Is responsible for the safety of the guests and employees.
• To oversee and maintain all aspects related to memberships, guest entrance policies and related administration.
