Purpose and Scope 
Responsible for setting the strategic risk management vision and delivering that strategy to the bank. Directs the planning, implementation, and administration of the Bank’s risk management and loss prevention programs, policies and procedures. Covering all possible risks for the organization.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities 
1. Design the Banks risk strategy and policy identifying appropriate risk limits and necessary control areas for products, services and procedures to meet the Bank’s business objectives. 
2. Assesses macro risks of exposure to loss and determines if such risks can be eliminated or minimized, and accordingly approves of risk related products or services (such as credit proposals…etc) 
3. Leads the investigation and reporting of incidents involving the Bank and accordingly recommends risk improvement techniques or practices. 
4. Monitors day to day departmental operation to ensure compliance with all applicable procedures and regulations taking corrective action when necessary. 
5. Promotes a “risk culture” throughout the Bank by advocating accountability within individual business areas and works with them to eradicate unnecessary risk. 
6. Monitors trends and regulations; develops recommendations for changes to Banks policies and procedures and ensures updating such policies and procedures accordingly 
7. Generates and escalates periodic and requested reports ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. 
8. Participates in the selection and development of staff. Interviews, coaches, advises, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines personnel. Reviews recommendations of subordinate managerial and supervisory staff and provides guidance in resolving complex or sensitive problems. Maintains and promotes positive employee relations in the work environment 
9. Prepares, secures approval, and implements department operating budget and operates within those guidelines 
10. Participates in the various cross-functional committees/teams for multiple purposes to achieve optimal cooperation and to assume seamless quality service 
11. Performs other duties in line with scope of work and as instructed by the direct manager
