We are looking for Assistant Restaurant Manager to work on a ship liner

As our Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be a part of our exciting and passionate shipboard Restaurant Operation team. Supervise the activities of dining room and employees engaged in providing professional and courteous service to our guests.


Career snapshot: 

•Remains highly visible to all staff members and guests, actively participating in the service of all products and services to our guests

•Maintains high level of familiarity of all current menus, including food menus, beverage lists and wine lists. Ensures constant flow of information to the Restaurant Operations team from both beverage operations and culinary areas

•Creates and develops training materials utilized in the training and development of the Restaurant Operations team which focus on service standards, menu knowledge, wine expertise and service techniques

•Manages the dining room function. Assigns duties, responsibilities and workstations to employees. Observes and evaluates employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards and service is met. Communicates personnel actions to ROM such as new hire requests and discharges, to ensure proper staffing.

Requirements:

•Minimum of three years progressive food and beverage supervisory experience, within a 4-5 star restaurant environment and Cruise Ship is required

•Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent is preferred

•Demonstrated aptitude for the financial aspects of a food and beverage operation, including the successful identification of expense reduction through cost efficiencies and revenue growth through promotional and up-selling activities

•Able to train and develop Restaurant staff

•Strong sales orientation

•Solid food and beverage knowledge, especially versed in wine knowledge

•Fluent in English and conversational in a foreign language Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin or Japanese

•Advanced Microsoft Office skills – especially Excel. Knowledgeable in POS systems

•All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable

•Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training
