Audio Video Technician

Responsibilties - Broad Funtion

  • To assist superiors in planning, implementing, organising and co-ordinating the smooth and efficient operation of the Audio Video & Sound system on a daily basis
  • To read and take immediate action on report relating to Engineering from Resident Engineer
  • Inspects and maintain facilities; gives direction to and evaluates work of the departmental personnel

Principal Responsibilities 

  • To assist Resident Engineer in establishing and maintain effective employee relations
  • To conduct frequent spot-checks within his department to ensure that all administration procedures are strictly followed
  • To inform Resident Engineer of any complaints or any other problems that may arise
  • To ensure that any orders, or decisions taken by the Resident Engineer are strictly followed up
  • To conduct frequent checks in his department with regards to hygiene, storage and par stocks
  • To assist the Resident Engineer in ensuring that all SOP(s) are properly implemented and carried out efficiently
  • To react to all daily operating problems and complaints rose and to offer solutions
  • To conduct frequent checks in his department with regards to courtesy, service quality and ensure that all standards are maintained
  • To undertake any other duties assigned from time to time by the Resident Engineer
  • To supervise activities of staff, to implement job allocations
  • To be prepare to work odd hours and to cover at least two evenings per week
  • Notifies supervisors and contacts appropriate personnel and departments in the event of equipment or system failure
  • Assist supervisors in directing and performing scheduled preventive maintenance and updates records pertaining to these programs
  • To do setting and programming all the TV channel and system
  • Attends training pertaining to systems as required and assures attendance at same by departmental personnel
  • Directs work, gives orientation and work instructions and evaluates performance of departmental personnel
  • Responsible for the appropriate use, care and maintenance of company owned tools and equipment
  • Observes health and safety rules and regulations and assures that all work is done in accordance with jurisdictional codes as well as manufacturers’ recommendationsAssures that safe work procedures and policies are followed, reports unsafe conditions and injuries promptly
  • Ensure that all equipments are kept in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel
  • Be willing to train and instruct other team members by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own
  • To supervise and participate in solving maintenance problems in the hotel – All the TV Channels for Guest and Staff rooms, Music DJ for Guest and all the electrical wiring
  • To ensure that the fire alarm and life safety system works
  • To ensure that all tools are cleaned, lubricate and are returned to the maintenance storeTo ensure that the working place are cleaned

  • Operation results and difficulties
  • Changes in procedures
  • New management policy
  • Quality improvement/maintenance of standards
  • Guests survey comments
  • Productivity improvements
  • To attend all maintenance meetings as required.
  • To report any major complaints in the hotel to the Supervisor.
  • To conduct stock inventory as per Finance department on a monthly basis.
  • To be aware of any functions held in the Hotel.

Qualifications

  • Higher School Certificate and Maintenance course.
  • Able to speak, write and read English. Preferably be able to understand one or more local dialects.
  • Able to do Audio Video System and Music DJ.
