IT Support Agent

Job Description:

The IT Support Agent is responsible for all system installations and upgrades in the hotel, and provides support to all users/guests in a timely manner. He/she is organized and is able to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

General Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists users and guests when hardware or software problems arise quickly and efficiently
  • Implements and follows all department standards and guidelines set by the company
  • Ensures that all system back-ups are taken regularly
  • Maintains a log book for problems and repairs, which will be check by the Department Head regularly. Reports major problems that cannot immediately be dealt with to the Department Head
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of all software and information stored in the hotel systems
  • Maintains a regular preventive maintenance schedule
  • Provides 24 x 7 on-call duties as required

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Good English communication skills. Fluency in Arabic is an advantage
  • Proficient in the use of Mac OSx, Opera and Micros
  • Able to work late night shifts when required

Qualification Standards:

Education: Diploma/Degree in Information Technology. Ideally holds Bachelor or Masters Degree.

Experience: Needs to have a minimum of three years experience with network environments. Ideally has a minimum of two years experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in the Middle East

Licenses or Certificates: Ideally holds either CCNP or MCSE certifications

Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided)
