Main Responsibilities:
- Courteously receive and properly route incoming calls
- Service out-going calls and supplies proper connections
- Take down and relay messages
- If electronic system is down, to record all-chargeable calls and post them on the guest’s invoice
- Record and give wake-up calls
- Report all telephone defects to the technical department
- Project a good image of the hotel by establishing good P.R through the telephone
- Assist guests when necessary e.g. calling for doctor, obtaining the telephone number etc.
- Verify telephone equipment rental charges, long distance charges
- Handle in- house paging system
- Handle fire-alarm procedure
- Work in close cooperation with reception, housekeeping, restaurant, banqueting, kitchen and sales department
- Check and ensure PABX equipment is operating efficiently
- Assure periodic servicing of telephone equipment by contractors
- Suggest and assist in finding ways to improve the telephone system/service
- Bring any discrepancies to the attention of FOM
- Refer any major operational problems or guest complaints to the FOM or in his absence to the Asst. FOM.
