To conduct, manage and monitor sales activities, assist the hotel management in identifying sales price policies, and promote the hotel’s image both locally and internationally in the best possible manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct activities to access customers and tour operators by using the most effective communication channels in the country and abroad so as to maintain hotel sales at the highest prices.
Conduct periodic meetings with the general management regarding the prices to apply at the hotel and to identify the applicable prices by examining the prices at neighbouring hotels, submit the prices to the management’s approval and, upon approval, communicate the new prices.
Conduct activities aimed at congress and meeting sales so as to ensure occupancy of hotel rooms and meeting rooms primarily during the periods when the hotel’s occupancy rate is low.
Organise the hotel’s sales activities and manage relationships with official and private organisations, the press and community.
Search for and create new potential customers and set the targets and objectives to achieve this potential.
Access customers through direct sales channels.
Identify the strengths and weaknesses against competitor hotels by researching their business potential, pricing policies, and methods and capabilities to attract customers. Conduct meetings with department managers in order to eliminate weaknesses and make suggestions to senior management. Carry out activities to reach out customers by capitalising on the strengths.
Review weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual sales activities, compare past sales with current sales and prepare forecasts.
Identify strategies for the next year and ensure that operations are carried out according to these strategies.
Make preparations for next year’s contracts and develop strategies.
Ensure and control implementation according to contracts.
Monitor services delivered in the facility according to the texts in the catalogues.
Ensure promotion of the facility. Develop a trade fair programme and strategy.
Attend related trade fairs and workshops for promotional purposes.
Monitor the operations of meeting groups within the facility through sales representatives.
Assist the Accounting Department in collecting agency receivables by working in coordination with the Accounting Department.
Provide information to senior management about the department’s monthly activities and prepare a monthly sales activity report.
Carry out all responsibilities related to the quality management systems implemented at the facilities.
Carry out all other duties assigned by managers and hotel management not specified in the job description.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University diploma.
Experience: At least 6 years of experience in the related field.
Foreign Language: Fluency in English.
Computer Literacy: MS Office applications.
Skills: Good command in more than one area in the related field. Knowledge of competitors, the market and macroeconomic concepts. Sufficient level of experience related to the region worked in. Expected to foresee guest needs and expectations and carry out activities in this direction. Expert level knowledge of all related products and services.
