The Role

The University is seeking full time faculty in the College of Health Sciences to teach all areas of chemistry, from introductory chemistry through organic chemistry including labs.

The ideal candidate will facilitate meaningful learning experiences for our students. Key Responsibilities:
- Share in-depth knowledge of chemistry and chemical concepts, with particular emphasis in organic chemistry, first to students and then the wider JU academic community.
- Provide instruction, including explaining difficult concepts and engaging students in the learning process.
- Develop course materials including lesson plans, assignments, quizzes, tests, course handouts, and presentations in accordance with University policy and guided by Program Director.
- Prepare required course file documentations.
- Support students learning and advise students to achieve their academic goals.
- Participate in program reviews, curriculum development and research activities.
- Participate in relevant University Committees, Groups and Taskforces.

Requirements

- Minimum 2-3 years teaching experience at the university level.
- Possess at least an earned accredited masters degree in the discipline or related field.
- English language proficiency, minimum 7 on the ILETS or 637 TOFEL.
- Experience using SPLMS or similar learning management product and the demonstrated abilities to use computer-aided instruction.
- Excellent communication skills with proven track records in effective teaching, class management and course delivery and leadership.

The position demands excellent oral and written communication skills; outstanding teaching experience and demonstrated and proven commitment to high ethical, personal and professional standards. Evidence of commitment to classroom teaching and learning; Ability to work effectively with and advise students from a culturally and educationally diverse population on how to meet their goals is essential.
