The company in Palo Alto is looking for a mobile engineer with excellent skill in iOS development.
The company, a Palo Alto stealth start up reimagining consumer video for billions of users. Our product lets people record video on their phone or camera and automatically distills the highlights into a short movie. We do that using machine learning analytics and thorough rethinking of UX. We’re a small and agile team with a working prototype (app + cloud service) and an early group of testers.

We are looking for a mobile engineer with excellent iOS skills to join the team and play a critical role in taking this product to market. Be the owner of the app, address existing issues, design and refactor architecture going forward, continue developing new and exciting features. Work directly with the CEO/CTO to get the product dialed in for our users.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and operating systems
- Strong design and iOS skills to handle complexity of several data recorders working simultaneously and communicating with the cloud
- Advanced knowledge in Objective-C (Swift an advantage) and the iOS Frameworks: Foundation, AppKit or UIKit
- Good hacking skills: ability to get into an existent code base, locate and fix bugs, refactor, add new features
- Experience building, shipping, and maintaining user-facing iOS applications
- Experience in multi-threaded apps. GCD specific experience an advantage
- Experience in any of the following:
- GPS & accelerometer recording: Core Location, Core Motion
- Video & audio: AVFoundation, Core Image, Core Graphics, Core Audio
- Data handling: Core Data
- Familiarity with modern cloud and Web architecture: AWS, S3, SQS
- Familiarity with agile development methodology
- Familiarity with Android development
- Passion for delivering a seamless user experience and a keen eye for details
- Desire to live the disruptive startup life: rapid releases, quick decisions, lots of autonomy
