• Mechanical engineering design with consideration of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, New Model, and Environment.
• Support system for updating, modifying and improving drawings for layout, equipment & parts department wide.
• Create mechanical designs and identify equipment and process changes needed to best fit current manufacturing environment.
• Document and report daily activity & monthly schedules to Coordinators and Assistant Managers. Management of assigned zone equipment to optimize production capabilities and efficiency.
Experience:
Degree: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in actual creation of required components per specialty (concept, specification setting and layout creation and negotiation capability).
Conducts design feasibility and cost analysis, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned products and systems.
Analyzes components/parts in area of specialty to ensure that established layout/quality/cost/performance standards and regulatory requirements are met or exceeded and recommends cost-effective design modifications/improvements that support testing and mass production.
Required Skills:
• Mechanical engineering experience with the ability to analyze potential problems.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Ability to design in CatiaV5- VPM Navi - Honda Drawing Experience, Advanced Surfacing, Meshing, FEM creation, Sheet Metal, CAE , Draft Analysis, Digital Mockup (SPA)
Manufacturing knowledge - Sheet metal (forming, stamping, welding), injection mold, blow mold, pipe forming, process control
Engineering Capability - Tolerance Stack-up, Part Design (function, cost, weight), and Materials.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong communication, planning, organization skills
• Strong project planning skills.
Desired Skills:

• Ability to focus on tasks required to meet the desired goal.
• Ability to mentor and train new associates on electrical design and review.
