Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing Technical Services support to the organization to ensure the delivery of high quality products to the marketplace.

Major Responsibilities

Maintains technical documentation:

  • Ensures technical documentation is up to date, manages Canadian documentation database and provides the information as part of the innovation / renovation process.
  • Initiates requests for technical information on new or renovated products from St. Louis Technical Applications Group
  • Uses technical documentation to ensure all packaging and promotional materials are in compliance with NPP and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides support on regulatory documentation and follow ups.

Plans factory trials and completes all required documentation pre and post-trial

  • Effectively uses NPPC systems and tools required for scheduling appropriate work and tests, collecting and analyzing data, and completing and disseminating accurate reports.

Palatability testing

  • Arranges all routine and non-routine palatability testing, records and communicates results.

Establishes and maintains a level of interaction with Marketing, Sales, Factory Operations and St. Louis Technical Applications group

  • Collaboratively and proactively keeps key team project members apprised of issues, risks, timing, and contingencies relevant to technical and business success.

Responsible for gathering and reporting information related to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) regulatory initiative.

Performs various other duties as required to support the Technical Services Director in the areas of technical support in the development of new or improved products

Qualifications

  • Completion of a University Degree in Food Science, Animal Science or other life science required for this position.
  • 1-2 years business-related experience, with good project management skills.
  • Must be able to communicate scientific information in simple terms.
  • Detail oriented individual with the ability to handle multiple projects/priorities in a fast paced environment. 
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). SAP experience is an asset.
