Position Summary
Responsible for providing a full range of HR services in a highly responsible and confidential manner. This position is designed to be a succession plan feeder to the Director of Human Resources role.
Major Responsibilities
- Accountable for HR Business Partner Support to line management and employees:
- Acts as a first point of contact for all HR related issues including, but not limited to, policies and procedures, compensation, benefits and performance management.
- Monitor employment legislation changes and ensure the Company’s policies are in compliance.
- Manage complex HR issues including employee counseling, exit interviews, employee terminations, and employee investigations, etc.
- Leads the talent acquisition strategy including leveraging of social media platforms at Purina.
- Leads the Employment branding Initiative at Purina including the Company’s Career page on purina.ca as well as our social media recruitment initiatives.
- Responsible for the full life cycle recruitment for positions up to Director level
- Works with line managers to in identify needs, gain approvals and prepare job postings.
- Ensures corporate hiring practices and standards are adhered to.
- Accountable for training and coaching to line managers on hiring practices as required.
- Establishes relationships with key recruitment suppliers and recommends new suppliers. Negotiates agreements with new suppliers.
- Works with the line manager to make the final hiring decision.
- Conducts all reference checks including criminal and credit checks as required.
- Prepares offer letters and sends turn down letters as appropriate.
- Develops, manages and maintains SAP HR Data.
- Designs and Manages the HR KPI dashboard and required submissions to Headquarters.
- Analyses data from the HR KPI dashboard and accountable to bring forward recommendations to address issues.
- Leads the annual bonus and salary review program:
- Liaises with shared services to establish current year program and timelines.
- Prepares communication/training to Line Managers on the compensation program.
- Manages the corporate wide roll out of merit and bonus information. Co-ordinates with the factories to ensure information is provided in a timely manner.
- Work with the Leadership team to ensure submission meets the required Vevey guidelines and company timelines.
- Contribute to the development of added value processes with respect to enhanced HR processes and efficiencies
- Provide support to the Director as required including special projects.
- Manages SAP HR market initiatives.
Qualifications
- A university degree in business. Specialization or professional Human Resource designation is an asset. MBA an asset.
- 8-10 years of experience in human resources, must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Corporate setting.
- Capable of appropriately handling highly confidential documents and information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative, learn new concepts and adapt to changes.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of ESA, Human Rights Code and other related legislation required.
