Job purpose
Reporting to the Crew Scheduling Manager, the position will be primarily responsible for
- The production of Flight and Cabin crew rosters 10 days prior to implementation.
- The rosters must be produced from the available manpower and after taking into consideration the training program, leave profile, crew members qualifications, standby coverage, flying schedule and in accordance with GCAA CARS sub part Q and Chapter 7 of Manual A.
- Projection and forecast manpower
Job outline
- Manage the roster production process to ensure that all flights are covered and all legalities achieved within the time lines required.

- Create multidimensional solutions in order to overcome manpower constraints.
- When producing rosters special consideration should be taken of the following;
- Be fair in allocation of duties, where possible giving equal distribution of workload and time off.
- Be consistent in the production of crew members rosters; provide individual crew members with stable roster as far as are practicable.
- Liaise with Crew Control on a regular basis where rosters may affect the operation, where training matters will impact the roster.
- The planning of crews plays a vital and crucial role with the meeting of corporate objectives. Innovative solutions are required to the problems of capacity constraints and regulatory compliance.
- Failure to correctly factor all of the above elements could result in crew shortages, which then directly impacts both pilots and the commercial program.
Qualifications
- Education to ‘A’ level or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 4 years experience in Flight / Cabin Crew Planning / Training, Scheduling with a reputable airline.
- Knowledge of airline operations; and computerized crewing systems, preferably Aviant Crew Tracking System.
- Thorough and In-depth understanding of airline operations, rostering practices, manpower planning, resource management CAP-371 and CAR-OPS.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
