Job Purpose

Reporting to the Food Service Manager, the assistant Food Service Manager (FSM) will deputise in the absence of the SM. Whilst, manage and control all QDF BOH/FOH operations at all other times. Further, the position will be responsible to provide oversight and coordination for associated QDF F&B businesses.

Experience

Operational

  • Day to day management and oversight of all HIA and associated food and beverage operations
  • Implements & maintains all F&B operational policies and procedures
  • Contributes to future business development at an operational level
  • Plans, identifies,communicates and delegates key responsibilities & tasks to QDF employees
  • Organisation of all staff welfare,duties,grooming,schedules & training, food handling & Hygiene, HACCAP
  • Through a process of mentoring and quality assurance,ensures that the highest possible standards are met and maintained
  • Actively drives sales & improvements through operational performance
  • Achieves financial objectives in accordance to the AOP and maximising revenues & profitability
  • Customer care -both internally and externally
  • Ensures all in store and marketing activity is correctly executed
  • Assisting in the preparation of MIS
  • Coordination of all stock controls and cash handling processes
  • Initiates an ongoing product improvement program that ensures consistent improvement and evolution of the offer
  • Ensure stock effective stock management is maintained at all times
  • In Co-ordination with the FSM, reviews the F&B offer with the view to further develop the QDF brand to ensure its relevant, fresh, innovative and achieving desired returns
  • Brings the benefit of their experience and knowledge to ensure the QDF, F&B offer is in line with the QDF brand equity and excellence achieving regional and global recognition
  • Coordinates with and provides oversight to brand and menu development, HACCAP, training, marketing, logistics and general landlord support

Management & Leadership

Sales

  • Increase sales to maximise profitability while reducing costs through well managed operational controls
  • Drive Sales and F&B improvements through analysis and support
  • Propose measures to improve operational performance through correct promotional activity
  • Ongoing review of sales results versus targets and budgets

Merchandise

  • Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandise activities,determining additional sales promotion, authorization stock clearance and studying trends
  • Liaise with buying department to ensure range and stock levels are consistent with business requirements
  • Ensuring correct housekeeping & Health and Safety practices

Financial

  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing staff and department targets scheduling expenditure, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions
  • Maximise sales and profitability for the company
  • Set individual targets by shift, by location, by day etc for duty managers and staff to achieve
  • Set monthly sales targets
  • Provide clear and accurate financial sales data and analysis

Customers

  • Convert passengers into consumers through a process of staff mentoring, training, cultural understanding and by providing the highest levels of service and comfort
  • Identifies current and future requirements by establishing rapport & connection with customers
  • Take account of customers needs and shopping habits and competitor activity

Marketing

  • Ensuring all in store marketing and promotional activity is executed correctly, on time and as specified
  • Oversight and coordination of all marketing and PR activity and communication
  • In coordination with the Food Service Manager, plan, initiate and run promotional activity to stimulate both interest and revenues, such as food festivals etc.

Development

  • Ensures operational requirements are fulfilled
  • Maintains staffing by identification of needs, assisting in recruitment selection, orientation, training, and employee development
  • Maintain Qatar Duty Free standards by coaching, counselling, disciplining, planning, monitoring and appraisals
  • Protects staff by providing safe and clean environment
  • Liaise with training training department to develop and manage the company's sales and product training programms.
