Resort Head Chef, Maldives

WE are currently looking for a Resort Head Chef to lead the team at their intimate, luxury boutique resort, which feature 4 dining venues.

THE ROLE

  • Accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations.

  • Reporting to the Resort Manager

  • Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions.

  • Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing the financial performance in all areas of responsibility.

  • Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced.

  • Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports.

  • Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.

  • Areas of responsibility comprise overseeing all food preparation areas (e.g., room service, restaurants, bar/lounge and employee cafeteria) and all support areas (e.g., dish room and purchasing).

  • Reporting to the onsite Hotel Manager and Executive Chef at a nearby sister resort

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Male or female from a European cuisine background and aged between 28 and 40 years old

  • An ambitious and creative chef who would like to have his first international Head Chef experience

  • Ideally single though couples will be considered with the partner also working in the resort (no kids)

  • Past experience working in fine dining / gourmet restaurants within hotels & resorts preferred

  • Strong Mediterranean cooking background to a very high standards
  • A good understanding of Pastry is also required
