Main duties will includes:
- To possess management ability that ensures a successful handling of the banquet operations.
- To control reservations and seating of the outlet with regards to companies standards.
- To be able to anticipate, in advance, all materials and supplies and assure their availability.
- To control usage of all food and beverage items and appropriate usage of equipment, tools and service equipment.
- To prepare colleague schedules, which allow for appropriate service while controlling labour costs and over time.
- To communicate with the Chef and F&B management to discuss menus, marketing strategies and guest comments and concerns.
- Liaise with banquet sales team for coordination of future/current events, make ideas and clarifications to ensure all events are up to date.
- To forecast covers and revenues and then schedules accordingly.
- To complete and conduct performance evaluations for all colleagues.
- To forecast workloads and checks work schedules prepared by subordinate managers for all outlet colleagues.
- To manage and control overall expenses of the outlets focusing on higher revenue and profit.
- To keep informed of special events such as Ramadan, Eid, etc. Knowledge of P.O.S. system of hotel.
- To be familiar with Profit and Loss and be able to calculate food and beverage cost.
- To be thoroughly knowledgeable in all facets of Human Resources nature interviewing, evaluating, discipline, termination and administration related.
- Ensure outlet complies with health and safety, HACCP and hygiene regulations.
- Ensures targets set by the company are met (i.e JD Power, LQA, HACCP, COS...)
- To ensure that all BEO's are handled correctly and that all billing instructions are followed
- To plan, organize and execute Xmas and NYE functions for the hotel and any other VIP functions for the image of the hotel
About you
In order to be considered for this role you must have at least 2 years experience as Banquet Manager in a 5* star hotel international environment. With a degree or diploma in Hospitality Management and certified in wine studies WSET level 2 or equivalent. Excellent verbal and written English communication. Proficient in MS Office applications. Proficient in MS Office applications. Ability to Develop marketing plan and ideas to drive business. Financial understanding (P&L and menu engineering). Pursues achievements, results enthusiastically and takes initiatives that support business objectives. Ability to work with different cultures and nationalities. Effectively manages and takes responsibility for own professional and personal development. Inspires and guides the team by being a positive role model. Exercises good judgment in making decision leading to a successful solution. Fluency in other languages such as Arabic, Russian, German, French and Italian would be an added advantage.
