Occupational Therapist job description:

This is a PRN position (on-call, as needed)

Occupational therapists assess and treat people who need to relearn how to perform their activities following illness or injury. They help people to regain lost functions, develop their abilities and social skills, and maintain and promote independence. They are involved in:

  • Assessing patient abilities within their environments
  • Setting goals with patient
  • Planning and directing therapy treatment
  • Helping patients gain or regain skills for day to day life, work and study
  • Using physical and social activities to increase ability and confidence
  • Adapting equipment, housing or motor vehicles to enable patients to be safe and independent
  • Advising patients on changes to their lifestyle to help them with daily activities
  • Providing support and education to patient and families

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current Kentucky licensure.
  • CPR certified
